Contrary to popular belief, serving the community is the primary focus for radio broadcasting. On-air talent and the music selection are two ways to gain a listener’s attention to these causes, but I’ve always felt a duty as a graphic designer to also have a “conversation” with them in a different way. I like to call it a “visual conversation,” basically needing my creatives to speak to hearts and minds without saying a word. I want my visuals to help gain trust that you are helping a quality worthy cause because if we are involved as an organization, than you will receive the best we have to offer.
National Association for Broadcasters - 2026 Crystal Award Submissions
After being shut out of nominations for multiple years, I was asked to create our 2026 submissions for the first time. For the first time ever, all 3 stations were nominated and we were the only market in Hubbard Broadcasting that had all stations nominated for Crystals.
Unfortunately, this year we did not take a Crystal home, but the experience was well worth it and encouraging for next time!
